Ponder

There is something very masculine in what I do every day. To sit and train for a job that is currently male dominant is very liberating. I thank God every day that I have the strength to keep doing what I do and what I had to do to get here. I think what makes a person who they are is how they take life when it comes to them with full force. Believing that there’s more to life than what you think is on your plate, actually trying to envision pass on what you think the limit of your ability is. I find it very rewarding to find myself in the position I am in now, even if I’m still in school. Sometimes I have this incredible urge to break some kind of invisible straight jacket that prevents me from going to places that I have no idea where. That’s what I guess drives my ability to stay humble (to a point where I end up looking like a snob because I don’t know how to react to a compliment).

Now back to my regular audiobook and (now room temperature, blegh) green tea :3

Internship

[[Yeah, I've decided I am no good on this whole blog ordeal. I am way too busy to take time and write, even though I've had so many ideas and thoughts enough to fill a whole months worth of feed.]]

One of my wallpapers. Done in Illustrator//PCS5

Venting aside, I did land an internship in the company I mentioned in my past post. Frombie has been an amazing experience. It did not only teach me what it would be like working with strict deadlines and specific constructs, it also honed out some of my  most difficult qualities. For those of you who haven't heard of Frombie, they are a Florida brewed designer toy (vinyls) company. Their main character is Zora who lives in a planet Ssorc along with other Frombies (Friendly Zombies, I know, your mind's blown). She also has a flying squirrel, Skiddlyboop or SB for short. Frombie does not only offer mere toys for the sake of accessorizing your shelves, they also equip you with stories of adventures in their very own comic books that star their main heroes and villains.

So check them out on Facebook & Twitter and drop a thumbs up on my wallpapers while you're at it!

Vector Practice

My friend who's currently a Concept Artist for this awesome company called, Frombie asked me to hone up my Illustrator skills. You can probably give me any 3D program a lot more confusing than Illustrator and I could master it. But hand me a simplified Photoshop-like program and my brain can't handle it! Illustrator and I do not play well together so when somehow I produced this "simple" image, I was blown away.

Ever since, I've been itching to get home just so I could fire up Ai and have it's way through my artwork. I'm planning a series of characters with a specific theme (horoscope, birthdays etc.) just so I could practice some more.
