Sketch Saturday!

This post is much overdue. Midterms and holidays have hindered me from posting something. Figured I already ran out of excuses, I believe this day is most appropriate to get me back on track.

And without further ado..

This piece was done for my Digital Illustration class as a Midterm piece. We were to draw the piece first (about 8x11 or bigger) before scanning it to color digitally. I use Corel Painter 11 and oil as medium.

1. Sketch/Line work 2.Blocking base colors

3. Adding highlights and adjusting angles. 4. Final (WIP)

I know this tutorial was pretty "basic" to say the least, I wasn't so prepared on taking screen shots. Hope it sort gave you an understanding on how messy I work, lol.

Intro.

Hello there stranger!

My name is Nikki and you've just stumbled upon my blog.

Unlike my previous attempts on actually keeping a blog, this will be showcasing most of my artwork. I will take you through my actual process on finishing a piece (my way of motivating myself) and various moments in my unpredictable life.

I'm planning on doing a FAQ page or a simple survey just to show you that I'm really not harmful to society. Also I'm devoting a day to showcase a piece I have been working on that week as, Sketch Saturdays. Other than the cliche blog intro, I say sit back and hopefully you find enjoyment in my posts.
